A Field Trip to EDC Romfor Ltd Company in Erbil

On November 9, 2023, a group of our students, supervised by Mr. Mohammed Jamal, visited EDC Romfor in Erbil. The purpose of this field trip was to introduce the students to      drilling rigs, their components, and the procedures required for rig assembly and oil/gas well drilling.

The students received necessary safety instructions and were introduced to various units of rig components and parts stored in the company’s warehouse. During the excursion, the students met Mr. Swara, the company’s Drilling Manager, who explained the detailed plan for assembling a drilling rig and how to initiate the drilling procedure.

The field trip provided practical insights and a hands-on learning experience for the students in the Drilling and Completion Engineering course.
